Fallon Health announces 2021 Community Impact Grants recipients
$110,000 awarded for projects targeting food insecurity and social isolation among older adults
Worcester, Mass., November 17, 2021—Fallon Health, a mission-focused, community-based not-for-profit health care services organization, today announced $110,000 worth of grants have been awarded to 11 community-based organizations across its service area with a focus on Berkshire, Middlesex and Worcester Counties. The funds have been earmarked for projects that will directly help with COVID-19 recovery efforts.
“The pandemic has tested the strength of our communities across Massachusetts, especially its most vulnerable citizens. Many of the challenges presented in the form of food insecurity as well as the negative effects that social isolation has on older adults,” said Richard Burke, President & CEO of Fallon Health. “We are inspired by the work our partner organizations are doing in the community, and it is our sincere hope that we are able to help ease some of the financial constraints they are facing while assisting so many individuals and families in the Commonwealth.”

The grants were provided through Fallon Health’s Community Impact Grants Program. As a Massachusetts’ non-profit Health Maintenance Organization, Fallon Health is committed to providing support to address unmet health needs and improving the health of disadvantaged populations through its grant program. Recently, Fallon’s investment in the social determinants of health was highlighted in a report by the office of Attorney General Maura Healey.
