Fallon Health named 2016 Corporate Citizen of the Year

Honored by the Worcester Business Journal as a Business Leader of the Year

Worcester, Mass., March 21, 2016 ― Fallon Health, a nationally recognized not-for-profit health care services organization, was selected as the 2016 Corporate Citizen of the Year by the Worcester Business Journal (WBJ). Fallon is being honored for its strong commitment to the community; ethics and integrity in working with members and business and community partners, and its family-friendly and supportive workplace environment.

“At Fallon there is a rich history of giving back to the community—it’s part of the company’s DNA. Community grants, donations of food, clothing, computers and back-to- school supplies are annual efforts," said Peter Stanton, Publisher of the Worcester Business Journal. “Employees donate time, serve on area boards, volunteer at food pantries and put on charity walks and golf tournaments as part of their deep commitment to the city and region they call home.”

Richard Burke, President and CEO of Fallon, accepted the award on behalf of the organization. “For nearly 40 years, Fallon has been a part of a community that provides tremendous opportunities to live, become educated, raise families, access high-quality health care, excel in a career and make a difference. It’s the right thing to work together to improve the health and well-being of this region, and we’re honored to be recognized for our efforts.”

“Fallon is an incredible community partner,” said Tim Murray, President and CEO of the Worcester Chamber of Commerce. “We’re lucky to have a company of this caliber to be headquartered in Worcester and Central Mass. Fallon is there on issue after issue and a corporate exemplar—an example of what we want all of our companies to do.”

“Fallon is an organization that is dedicated to helping the community change,“ said Maureen Binienda, Principal of South High School and newly appointed Superintendent of the Worcester Public Schools. “We’re so appreciative of Fallon’s willingness to support us when we have a need and that their employees stand up and help.”
