Fallon Community Health Plan appoints Karin Landry to board of directors

Worcester, Mass., August 12, 2013―Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP), a nationally recognized health care services organization, today announced the appointment of Karin Landry to its board of directors.

With 25 years of experience in the health care, insurance, risk financing, retirement and benefits industries, Landry is an internationally recognized leader in captive insurance strategy, benefits and finances. Currently, Landry is Managing Partner at Spring Consulting Group of Boston, Mass., a leading professional services firm whose core focus is developing integrated and innovative solutions in the areas of employee benefits, risk management and wealth strategies.

Prior to joining Spring, Landry was President of Watson Wyatt Insurance & Financial Services, Inc. for the United States and a regional and local leader of Watson Wyatt's Employee Benefits Practice. She has worked in a variety of countries on life, health and retirement areas including but not limited to the United States, Indonesia, India, China, Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands. Landry was also a consultant with Betterley Risk Services for a number of years.

In 2010, Landry was awarded Risk Innovator by Risk & Insurance, and in 2012, she was one of Business Insurance’s Top 25 Women to Watch. Landry was also named one of Captive Review’s Power 50 for the captive insurance industry.

Landry is a member of the Mathew Greenwald Board, Past-Chairman of the Board of The Captive Insurance Company Association (CICA), a member of the ERISA Industry Committee and an international liaison for ECIROA. She is also a Professor of Employee Benefits and member of the finance committee for International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE), the strategic planning committee and conference committee for the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) and the health policy committee for ERIC.

Graduating from Babson College with a BSBA, Landry has pursued graduate studies in finance from Northeastern University. She holds numerous licenses and certificates including Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Group Benefits Administrator (GBA), Certified Long Term Care Consultant (CLTC) and Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) Designation as well as four patents focused in the areas of life and health insurance and retirement and pension benefits.
