Fallon Community Health Plan achieves national top 10 ranking
FCHP is highest-ranked health plan in Massachusetts for its Medicare plan and only health plan in America to achieve Honor Roll status in all product categories
Worcester, Mass., November 12, 2009 ―Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP), a nationally-recognized not-for-profit health care services organization, today announced that it is among the top 10 commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans in America, according to a joint ranking by U.S News & World Report and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
“These rankings reinforce our commitment and continued focus on ensuring FCHP members receive the highest quality of care and services they deserve and should expect from a top health plan,” said Eric H. Schultz, President and CEO, FCHP. “Our members are benefitting from the hard work and efforts of our employees, and from the partnerships we’ve formed with the providers from which they receive care.”
FCHP’s commercial HMO was ranked 7th out of 239 plans; its Medicare plan was ranked 2nd out of 166 plans; and its Medicaid plan was ranked 3rd out of 82 plans. Based on the rankings, FCHP also is the highest-ranked health plan in Massachusetts for its Medicare health plans. Additionally, FCHP is the only health plan in the country to be listed on the Honor Roll in all three product categories. The Honor Roll recognizes the very best of the hundreds of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid managed care plans reviewed for this year's health plan rankings.
For its commercial HMO health plan, FCHP performed particularly strong on several HEDIS® measures as reported by Quality Compass, ® which is NCQA's comprehensive national database of health plans’ HEDIS® and CAHPS® results.* These measures include:
-
Initiation and engagement of alcohol and other drug treatment
-
