What's it like to work at FCHP? Working at FCHP is about caring for our customers and our community. It's about caring for each other. It's also about summer barbecues and casual Fridays. And it's about a welcoming and warm environment that truly values the individuality and talents of all who work here. Every day brings stimulating and rewarding challenges, and energy, enthusiasm and fun are always part of the mix.

Community involvement

It’s more than a just a mission. At Fallon Community Health Plan, we think that community service is so important that not only do we sponsor charitable events and organizations, we encourage our employees to get involved in their communities.

Through sponsorships, grants and in-kind donations, FCHP contributed more than $1 million in 2010 to support community-based events, activities, agencies and organizations that are working to improve the health and well-being of residents across the Commonwealth.

FCHP continues to reach out to support organizations that make tough times a little more bearable for those in need.

United Way Day of Caring

FCHP employees participate in the annual United Way Day of Caring, which is a half-day community project. Projects have included:

• Painting at Lakeside Apartments and Great Brook Valley in Worcester
• Gardening at Girls, Inc.
• Picking vegetables at the Community Harvest Project
  
  

Pay it Forward

In celebration of our 30th anniversary in 2007, FCHP gave 30 employees a chance to "pay it forward" and donate $1,000 to their favorite charity. In total, FCHP distributed $30,000 to area charitable organizations. We continued the program in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, giving 30 different employees each year the opportunity to donate $500 to a charity of their choice.

The 2011 list included:

• American Red Cross
• Be Like Brit
• Boys & Girls Club
• Charlton Public Library
• Homes for Our Troops
• Second Chance Animal Shelter
• Shriners Hospital for Children

Other community events

FCHP also sponsors and supports a number of community events throughout Massachusetts:

• Canal Diggers 5K Road Race
• Golf FORE a Goal golf tournament (the 2010 tournament raised over $170,000 with net proceeds benefiting food pantries and hunger relief programs throughout Massachusetts)
• Worcester's 4th of July Celebration
• Worcester's St. Patrick's Day Parade
• Central Massachusetts Heart Walk
• Special Olympics' Massachusetts Winter Games
