Fallon Community Health Plan continues to offer $0 premium Medicare Advantage plan in 2008
Third year in a row for $0 premium plan design; 12 Medicare Advantage plans offered in all
Worcester, Mass., October 1, 2007—Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP) announced today that it will offer 12 Medicare Advantage health plan choices through Fallon Senior PlanTM, including those with $0 monthly premiums, for 2008. Fallon Senior Plan is the only Medicare Advantage plan available for a $0 monthly premium in Worcester County.
Medicare beneficiaries who choose Fallon Senior Plan will continue to receive more benefits than traditional Medicare, including Weight Watchers®, the SilverSneakers® Fitness Program, health and wellness education, dental care and chiropractic services, and discounts on acupuncture and massage. In addition, eight of the 12 health plans will include Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage.
In alignment with our mission of making our communities healthy, Fallon Senior Plan will continue to offer health plans with $0 premiums for those individuals who are dual-eligible, which means the individual is enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid (MassHealth). In addition, Fallon Senior Plan will remain a valued option for employers who want to offer health insurance coverage to their retirees. In 2008, benefits for retirees will be enhanced, including the addition of coverage for hearing aids.
To better serve our members, the Fallon Senior Plan network has been expanded to include additional providers in Central Massachusetts. There will be no changes to FCHP’s Medicare Advantage service area. As always, Fallon Senior Plan will be available in the following regions: Worcester County, and portions of Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex and Norfolk counties.
In 1980, Fallon Community Health Plan became one of the first health plans in the nation to offer a Medicare HMO plan. Since then, FCHP has been a leader in providing comprehensive coverage for those with Medicare.
