Fallon Community Health Plan appoints Richard C. Commander to Vice President of Operations

Worcester, Mass., October 30, 2008― Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP), a nationally recognized, not-for-profit health care services organization, announces the appointment of Richard C. Commander to Vice President of Operations. In this position, he will be responsible for overseeing the service operations for the health plan, including member enrollment, billing, claims administration and customer service.

Commander comes to FCHP from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Over the course of more than 30 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, he held multiple leadership positions in both the operations and information technology areas, with responsibilities in claims administration, customer service, national business administration, and project management for new technology implementations.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Commander received a master’s degree in business administration from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. He served in the United States Army and is a Vietnam veteran.

Commander resides in Marshfield, Mass., with his wife, Kathy, and they have three sons who all live and work in the greater Boston area.
