Fallon Community Health Plan appoints Elizabeth M. Helenius to Assistant Vice President of Account Management and Senior Plan Sales

Worcester, Mass., August 8, 2007― Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP), a nationally recognized health care services organization, is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth M. Helenius to Assistant Vice President of Account Management and Senior Plan Sales. In this position, she is responsible for the retention and growth of existing commercial and Fallon Senior Plan business.

Helenius came to FCHP 14 years ago and began her career as a member relations representative. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Business and Product Development, where she led the development of consumer-directed health care products specifically designed for the marketplace. In 2007, Helenius helped to lead FCHP through the implementation of the landmark health care reform legislation, and was instrumental in the creation of some of the most affordable health insurance plans offered to the uninsured in Massachusetts.

Before coming to FCHP, Helenius worked for Atchue Insurance Agency where she serviced a full range of insurance products including property and casualty, homeowners, life and disability.

Helenius is a graduate of Fairfield University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in English and Communications. She earned a master’s degree in Health Education from Worcester State College, and has completed studies as a Project Management Professional at Boston University.

Helenius was recognized in 2006 by the Worcester Business Journal as one of the “40 under Forty” recipients for her professional development at FCHP and for being a good role model for fitness. An avid runner, Helenius has completed five Boston Marathons to raise money for the likes of the MS Society and the UMass Memorial Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
Helenius is also an active volunteer within the FCHP organization, serving the United Way and the American Heart Association, and is a member of the Emerald Club and Central Mass Striders.

A mother of two, she resides in West Boylston with her husband, Mike.
