Welcome to Fallon Senior Plan’s online drug formulary
What is a formulary?
A formulary is a listing of prescription drugs that are approved for coverage by Fallon Community Health Plan. These drugs are classified by therapeutic category or disease class. They are considered preferred therapy for a given population and are the drugs to be used by our providers when prescribing medications.
What is covered?
Fallon Community Health Plan covers both generic and brand-name drugs. The online formulary lists these drugs.
Self-injectable medications used in the home setting are included in this formulary. Injections given by health care professionals in a health care setting are not. Also, durable medical equipment that is needed for the use of medication is not included in this formulary.
What is the difference between “generic” and “name-brand” drugs?
Generic drugs have the same active ingredients as brand-name drugs. Generic drugs usually cost less than brand-name drugs and are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be as safe and effective as the brand-name drugs.
