Infertility services - questions and answers
We know that infertility can be physically and emotionally challenging. We also know that the variety of infertility services available may seem confusing. That’s why we’ve developed this guide. We want to help you to better understand the types of fertility services FCHP covers, as well as your eligibility for coverage of these services.
I think I may be infertile. What should I do?
The first step is to meet with your primary care physician and obtain a referral to an FCHP-affiliated infertility specialist.
What will an infertility specialist do?
In order to determine if you are infertile, your infertility specialist will discuss your medical history with you, and perform a physical examination and diagnostic laboratory work. You may be diagnosed with infertility if you have not conceived or produced conception after at least 12 months of exposure to sperm.
If your infertility specialist finds that you are infertile, you may be eligible for benefits through FCHP. Your specialist will review your options with you and answer any questions you may have.
